What's this section for?
I'm providing this section for you to ask questions about Epson (or other) printers that you think or would like to suggest as FAQ topics for inclusion in the main FAQ pages.
Please remember
to provide as much information as possible about your question (brand, model, type, detailed, info, etc..) as that will help me, not only answer the question, but also to categorise it in the right FAQ topic too
I have an Epson Photo 1400 with a CISs. I am getting the dreaded waste ink pads message. Will it still be ok to run the reset tool
You can run the reset for any printer without needing to change the pads or redirect the waste ink immediately but the key thing is that you do still need to deal with the extra waste.
The ink will eventually flood the printers pads as they oversaturate so I would definitely get a waste ink kit to redirect the flow and fit it within the next few weeks.
None of these reset utilitys seem to work with windows 7. Are there any other options?
Not sure if you've seen this article about Windows 7 and using WindowsXP SP3 compatibility mode.
One key thing that people have reported is vital is that you be logged in as an administrator on the Windows 7 machine to get the utility to work.
I bought a waste ink tank last year for an epson rx685, that printer has now deceased and i have an epson p50 now, will the tank and pipes fit this one? if so i will purchase one of your reset keys and bobs your uncle, cheers dave
In a word yes... The RX685 would have taken a Solo+ kit (30cm single tube part) which is the same part used on the P50 so you're good to go.
In terms of the reset utility... Just drop me an email to support@ (octoink domain) with your original order reference and a note about this and I'll send you the correct one for the P50.
